YOUR ANXIETY HAS BEEN SETTING THE CEILING.

Let's Change That.

OCD and anxiety therapy for women who are ready to stop playing small.

You've been living by a script you didn't write for long enough. The overthinking, the spiral, the version of yourself you've been performing. That's not who you are. It's a loop. And loops can be broken.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

01.

You're not struggling because something is wrong with you.

You've read the books, tried the journaling, maybe even attended therapy before. And it helped, until it didn't. Most therapists are not trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD. If talking about your anxiety could interrupt your anxiety loop, you would be better by now. It takes a specific kind of treatment to actually break the loop.

02.

You find yourself overthinking every decision, shrinking in rooms you should own, or living by a script that was never quite yours to begin with.

Maybe it's OCD thoughts you've been white-knuckling for years, intrusive, relentless, exhausting. Maybe it's the perfectionism or people pleasing that helped you make good grades or land that job, but is now keeping you small. Maybe you're in the middle of a transition and you're realizing the version of you that got through everything before isn't who you want to be going forward.

03.

You are wondering if what you are dealing with is OCD.

Maybe someone mentioned you may have OCD once and it stuck with you. Maybe you have spent years in therapy being told it is generalized anxiety, experienced some progress, but never got better. Maybe no one told you that generalized anxiety treatment and OCD treatment are not the same thing. You do not need a diagnosis to reach out. You just need to recognize yourself in this description and be ready for a new approach.

You need a specialist.
Someone who can see

your specific loop.

and knows exactly how to interrupt it.

Dr. Lauren Weathers, PHD

the work

I use ERP alongside acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help you change your relationship to anxious thoughts rather than fighting them. ERP interrupts what you do in response to anxiety: the overthinking, the reassurance seeking, the checking and rechecking. ACT makes those anxious thoughts background noise rather than something you have to act on. You are not your intrusive or anxious thoughts. They are thoughts not facts. Together, ERP and ACT don't just reduce symptoms, they change your relationship to anxiety entirely.

THIS IS THERAPY

WITH A POINT      VIEW

of

We will map your specific OCD and anxiety loop: where it came from, what keeps it going, and what's making it louder. Then we get to work, building the skills to sit with uncertainty and discomfort. From there, you learn to trust yourself again and start making decisions based on what actually matters to you instead of what your anxiety is telling you to avoid.

On the other side of this work is a version of you who takes up space. Who knows herself. Who can feel anxious and still show up for her life. That's where the work gets fun. You get to date yourself and see who you are outside of your anxiety loop.

That's not anxiety management.

That's a different life.

WHO I WORK WITH

You're a high-achieving woman who suspects what you're dealing with is not just anxiety.

You may have OCD that was never properly diagnosed or treated, and you're ready for care that's actually calibrated to what's going on.

You've been in therapy before and it was not specific enough.

You want someone who knows OCD and anxiety inside and out, not someone who is figuring it out alongside you.

You're navigating OCD, panic, perfectionism, phobias, emetophobia, or anxiety that shows up as overthinking, people pleasing, or never feeling like enough.

You're in a transition, a new chapter, a new question of who you are now, and you want to figure it out with someone genuinely in your corner.

LAUREN

WEATHERS

I'm a clinical psychologist based in New York City specializing in OCD and anxiety.

I completed a specialized OCD postdoctoral fellowship and hold BTTI certification through the International OCD Foundation. I am one of a small number of psychologists in New York City with this level of specialized OCD training.

I work with a small caseload intentionally. You get my full attention, my pattern recognition, and someone who will remember exactly what you said three sessions ago and connect it to what you're saying today. I moved to New York because I do this work too. I know what it takes to stop letting anxiety make your decisions.

I offer individual therapy, intensive sessions, and a full intensive program for women and women-identifying clients.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is OCD therapy different from regular anxiety therapy?

Yes. The most effective treatment for OCD is ERP. Cognitive reframing, which is common in standard anxiety treatment, can actually make OCD worse. If you have been in therapy before and it has not worked, this is often why.

Do you take insurance?

I accept a small number of BCBS insurance clients and provide superbills for clients who want to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. I also provide all out-of-network clients with a Good Faith Estimate outlining the estimated cost of care.

Where are you licensed?

New York, Texas, North Dakota, and PsyPact, which means I can see clients across most US states virtually.

What is the first step?

Be sure to review the FAQ and Investment page before filling out the contact form. After you complete the form, I will send you a brief screener within two business days and follow up within one business day.

Let's get you out of the loop.
